One of the most fun things about this card is the Rain or Shine Designer Paper used on this card! It’s hard to tell from the picture, but the Designer Paper has a touch of glossy coating on the umbrellas and raindrops which just makes this card sparkle! Because I specifically needed a Thank You card, I did something I rarely do and used a sentiment from another stamp set on this card. There are so many sayings that come in the Playing in the Rain stamp set, so you certainly don’t need to have the Something Fancy stamp set to make this card!

For the colors, I decided to make it easy on myself and use 3 colors that are highlighted on the Specialty Paper: Balmy Blue, Old Olive and Cajun Craze. If you’d prefer a different combination of colors, make sure you check out my Color Combination Library and you’re sure to find a color combination that’s perfect for you!

Project Measurements

  • Balmy Blue: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
  • Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/2″ (x2)
  • Playing in the Rain Specialty Paper: 4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Old Olive: 2″ x 5″

Instructions

  1. Fold the Balmy Blue cardstock in half to create your card base.
  2. Adhere one of the 4″ x 5-1/2″ pieces of Basic White cardstock inside your card.
  3. Adhere the Playing in the Rain paper onto the front of the card.
  4. Using the strip of Old Olive cardstock, run it through the Cut & Emboss Machine using the largest tag/banner die. Adhere to the bottom of the card, about 1/2″ up from the bottom.
  5. Using the other piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp the fox using the Black Memento ink pad. Color in using the Balmy Blue Blends for his umbrella, the Old Olive Blends for his hate and coat; the Dark Cajun Craze Blend for his fur and the SU 800 Blend for his face and end of his tail. Die-cut using the Cut & Emboss Machine and the 3″ circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies; set aside.
  6. Using the remaining White cardstock, stamp the sentiment using Balmy Blue ink. Cut out the sentiment using the 1-1/4″ circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  7. Adhere the small circle to the left side of the larger circle; adhere both circles to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish.
