Trusty Tools Bundle card featuring a Happy Father's Day sentiment, with a tool box filled with stamped tools. Colors of blue, rust, green and kraft.

The varied tool designs in this set offer immense versatility for your crafting needs. This is a Two-Step stamp set which allows you to layer images using different stamps from the set. Stamp the tool of your choice in one color, then use another stamp to add color to the handle. When you put it all together, you get one detailed image that looks like it pops off the page! You can also easily use different ink colors for each stamp. This gives your stamped images more color and detail than you’d get using just one stamp.

For this card, I used the Gone Fishing Designer Paper to add a beautifully detailed background, and then followed up with a color combination inspired by the Gone Fishing Paper: Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze. If you’d prefer brighter colors, make sure you check out my Color Combination Library.

The Trusty Tools Bundle can be your perfect companion for every cardmaking adventure. This Bundle’s versatility is unmatched, allowing you to easily craft for any event, sentiment, or just to brighten someone’s day. Give it a try today!

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Fold the 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” piece of Very Vanilla  cardstock in half at the score line to create card base.
  2. Adhere the Let’s Go Fishing paper to the front of the card.
  3. Using the Crumb Cake cardstock, run through the Cut & Emboss Machine using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.  Run through the Machine again, cutting out the handle and rectangle from the Trusty Tools Bundle dies.  Adhere the ends of the handle to the back of the “rectangle” to create the tool box. Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals around the sides & bottom of the “tool box” making sure to leave the center of the box clear so that you can add the tools (see sample.)
  4. Using the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad, stamp various tools (see sample) onto the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Using the same ink pad, stamp the “handle” of the hammer and wench. Using the Cajun Craze ink pad, ink up the “handle” of the paint brush, stamp off once on scratch sheet, and then stamp onto Mossy Meadow paint brush image.  Repeat process for the tape measure,   Optional:  color in the other parts of the tape measure using the Light Cajun Craze Blend.
  5. Run the Very Vanilla cardstock through the Cut & Emboss Machine and cut out the tools using the dies from the Bundle.  Using adhesive, add the tools into the “tool box” as shown in the sample.
  6. Stamp the sentiment onto the 1/2” of Very Vanilla cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink.  Use your scissors to angle both ends and adhere to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish.

A Tip from Barb

Thanks to the Trusty Tools dies, this card comes together very quickly. To assemble the “tool box”, make the box first and then use it as a guide to adhere the tools onto the card front so that they don’t appear to stick outside of the box sides. Save 1 or 2 tools to place “inside” the handle to give the box more depth.
