How To Make This Card

Project Skill Level: Worker Bee

Worker Bee projects are designed for the crafter who has a bit more time and enjoys creating a handmade card that features a technique or tool. In many cases, a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is required for die-cutting and/or embossing.

  • Basic White Cardstock: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (2 pieces)
  • Poetic Expressions Paper: 1-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Poetic Expressions Paper: 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Fold the Night of Navy cardstock in half at the 4-1/4″ score line. Fold the front of the cardstock back at the 1-1/4″ score line to create a mini-Z pattern.
  2. Adhere one of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ pieces of Basic White cardstock inside the card.
  3. Adhere the 1-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Poetic Expressions Paper on the left side of the White cardstock so that it lines up with the right edge of the Basic White cardstock.
  4. Adhere the 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Poetic Expressions Paper on the outside of the card, lining up between the left fold and score line.
  5. Using the other 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and cut out the 2-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ rectangle and the 7/8″ x 2-1/4″ rectangle from the Everyday Details Bundle dies.
  6. Stamp the vase of flowers onto the larger rectangle using Night of Navy ink.
  7. Stamp the sentiment onto the smaller rectangle die using Night of Navy ink.
  8. Adhere the sentiment onto the right side of the focal image (see sample for placement) and then adhere only the right side of the larger rectangle to the card front flap to finish.

A Tip from Barb

This fun fold is easy to duplicate with any stamp set or papers. If you don’t have the dies, simply replace them with the cardstock that is cut the same size as the dies (or whatever size fits the stamp set you’re using.) I used an embossing folder on the front of this card, but it’s not necessary for the overall aesthetic of the design.
