I’ll show you how to whip up quick and elegant thank you cards that look anything but rushed. This card uses Card Sketch 4, which is showcased in our Stampin’ Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalog on page 22. To make this Happy Birthday card even easier to create, I used the gorgeous Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper and pulled the colors for my card from the paper. This created a clean and elegant design, with a pop of Black ink for the sentiment. How To Make This Card
Project Skill Level: Busy Bee
Busy Bee projects are designed for the beginner or busy papercrafter. This is a basic cardmaking project that can be achieved by someone who has never made a handmade card before. You can view more Busy Bee cards here.
Cardstock Measurements:
- Petunia Pop Cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic White Cardstock: 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Thoughtful Journey Paper: 3-3-/4″ x 5-1/4″
- Thoughtful Journey Paper (neutral): 3/4″ x 3″
- Fresh Freesia Cardstock: 3/4″ x 3″

Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fold the Petunia Pop cardstock in half at the score line to create you base card.
- Adhere the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock inside your card.
- Adhere the 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Thoughtful Journey paper to the front of your card, lining up on the right side.
- Adhere the 3/4″ strip of Thoughtful Journey paper to the card, as shown in the sample. (Note: this piece is optional, see my tip below.)
- Using the 3/4″ piece of Fresh Freesia, stamp the sentiment using Black Memento ink. Adhere to the card, overlapping the 3/4″ of Thoughtful Journey paper as shown in the sample.
A Tip from Barb
This is a fun card sketch that can be altered in many different ways. If the Designer Paper you’re using doesn’t have a “neutral” pattern, just leave it off. This design works best if you can use two Color Buddies from the paper, but if that doesn’t work, simply use White cardstock for the sentiment strip and change the ink color to another color pulled from the paper!
