This simple stamping card idea with Simply Leaves Bundle by Stampin’ Up!® is proof that a handmade card can look fancy without actually being fancy to make!
For this week’s Coffee & a Card, I wanted a Busy Bee card that a beginner could make without feeling overwhelmed. The fun fold gives it a little something extra, but the real secret is letting beautiful Designer Series Paper do most of the work for you. And THAT is one of my favorite card-making shortcuts.

This card uses two different patterned papers, including the Glow of Harvest Specialty Designer Series Paper, our August 2026 Product of the Month, along with a sneak peek of the Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper, coming September 1 in the September–December 2026 Quarterly Catalog.
Instead of adding lots of stamped images, layers and embellishments, I let the patterns and colors in the papers become part of the design. That’s such a good trick when you want a card that looks interesting but is still quick to put together.

I love how warm and cozy these three colors feel together. Golden Glow gives the card that beautiful golden warmth, while Crumb Cake brings in a soft, natural neutral. Very Vanilla keeps everything light without the sharper contrast you’d get from white.
And once again, the Designer Series Paper makes choosing the colors easy. Pull your colors straight from the paper and you don’t have to stand there staring at your cardstock wondering what goes with what!

The focal point couldn’t be much easier. I punched the large leaf from Crumb Cake Cardstock using the Simple Leaf Punch from the Simply Leaves Bundle. Then I stamped the veins onto the leaf with Crumb Cake ink using the coordinating stamp set. One little detail gives a plain cardstock leaf so much more interest!
I added some Linen Thread for texture, and that was really all the focal point needed. When your Designer Series Paper already has plenty going on, you don’t need to keep adding more and more.
Now, technically this is a fun fold card, but don’t let that scare you! This one is still firmly in Busy Bee territory. The fold is easy, the stamping is simple, and there aren’t a bunch of complicated pieces to figure out.
It’s one of those cards that makes people think you spent more time on it than you actually did. I fully support that kind of crafting. 😂
Simple doesn’t have to look simple. And that’s probably my favorite thing about this card.
We’re using an easy fun fold, simple stamping and one punched focal point. Yet when everything comes together, the finished card has lots of pattern, texture and interest.
And don’t forget that last step. Make the card, write something inside and send it to someone who could use a little stamping sunshine in their mailbox!
Don’t forget to pin this for later!
