One of the things I hear from new cardmakers is that they love handmade cards, but they’re not sure where to start. Maybe you don’t own any stamps yet. Or perhaps you have a long Christmas card list and just want to make something cute without spending an entire afternoon on one card.
That’s where the Mix & Match products come in!
For this card, I used the Creative Celebrations Mix & Match Specialty Designer Series Paper along with the Season of Celebration and Happiest Season Tags Mix & Match Ephemera Packs.
The patterned paper gives you a colorful background, while the ephemera packs provide ready-made designs you can use to decorate your cards. How’s that for making life easier?

For this card, I used Real Red, Hydrangea Hue, and Peaceful Pine. Real Red gives us that familiar Christmas feeling. It’s bright, cheerful, and immediately makes the card feel festive.
Hydrangea Hue adds a softer touch of blue that feels a little unexpected for Christmas. It keeps the design playful and brings out some of the colors in the presents. Peaceful Pine adds a deeper green that balances the brighter colors and gives the card a cozy holiday feeling.
Together, these colors remind me of wrapping presents, decorating the Christmas tree, and all those little traditions that make the season special. And because the patterned paper and accents already coordinate, you don’t have to spend time figuring out which colors work together!

I couldn’t resist using this little red car piled high with presents! The car is such a fun focal point, especially with all those colorful packages stacked on top. And the little “special delivery” greeting couldn’t be more appropriate for a Christmas card.
I paired it with two coordinating patterns from the Creative Celebrations paper. The red grid pattern adds a cheerful pop of color across the top, while the plaid paper gives the bottom of the card a cozy Christmas feeling. A white panel layered onto red cardstock gives the car a place to shine without competing with those busy patterns.
What I especially like is that you get a card with plenty of personality without having to stamp, color, or cut out a complicated image.
And here’s another idea: once you’ve made one card, try changing the patterned paper or choosing a different accent from the ephemera packs. You can make several Christmas cards that coordinate without having every card look exactly alike.
That’s especially handy when your Christmas card list seems to grow every year! So make a few extra Christmas cards this year, and send one to someone who might not be expecting it.
Don’t forget to pin this for later!
