Fun Cards with the Sweet Peas Stamp Set
Make sarcastic and fun cards with the Sweet Peas Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! This stamp set is ideal for adding a playful and whimsical touch to your handmade greeting cards. Whether you’re crafting a birthday card, a thank you note, or just a simple hello, the Sweet Peas Stamp Set offers endless possibilities for creativity.
For this card, I went with a sentiment and image that I doubt I’ll send to too many friends, but it was perfect for my daughter! 😃 She had a perfect reason to be grumpy and the finished card made her smile! To highlight the adorable “grumPEA” image and sentiment, I went with a monocromatic color scheme and placed a frame around the image to highlight the focal image. Simple but cute!
How To Make This Card
Project Skill Level: Worker Bee
Worker Bee projects are designed for the crafter who has a bit more time and enjoys creating a handmade card that features a technique or tool. In many cases, a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is required for die-cutting and/or embossing.
Cardstock Measurements:
- Basic White Cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic White Cardstock: 3-3/4″ x 5″
- Granny Apple Green Cardstock: 2″ x 2″ (for die-cutting)

Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fold the 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock in half at the score line to create your card base.
- Stamp the pea image onto the 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock using Black Memento ink.
- Color in the image using the Light Granny Apple Green Blend.
- Run the Granny Apple Green cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and cut out the small label frame from the Unbounded Love Dies. (Note: this is a 2-piece die; you only need the outer frame so save the inner layer for another project!)
- Adhere the die-cut frame as shown in the sample.
- Using the Granny Apple Green ink pad, stamp the sentiment under the frame.
- Adhere the stamped Basic White cardstock to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish.
A Tip from Barb
While this card is super simple, it does require the Unbounded Love dies with the Cut & Emboss Machine. For that reason only, I’ve classified this card as a Worker Bee card, but you could definitely make a bunch of these in a hurry!
