Want to make a card that’s a little different without making it complicated? This easy Gatefold Card using pretty patterned paper is a fun way to change up your usual cardmaking routine! With its two front flaps and pretty circular greeting, it looks like you’ve spent a lot more time on it than you actually have.
For this week’s Coffee & a Card, I’m using the Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper and the Round About Messages Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!® That gorgeous floral paper does most of the decorating for us, which is one of my favorite cardmaking tricks!

Instead of opening from the side like a traditional card, a gatefold card has two flaps that meet in the middle. It’s a fun little surprise for whoever receives it!
I used the sunflower-patterned paper on both front panels, then added a layered circle with the “so kind of you” greeting from the Round About Messages Stamp Set. The circle is attached to just one flap, so the card can open without disturbing the design.
And here’s what I especially like about this layout: you can change the patterned paper and greeting to make a card for almost any occasion.

Golden Glow, Cajun Craze, and Peaceful Pine make such a pretty combination for a fall-inspired card. Golden Glow brings out the sunny yellow flowers in the patterned paper, while Cajun Craze adds a rich, warm contrast. Peaceful Pine balances those brighter colors with a softer green, keeping the design from feeling too busy.
The layered circle also gives your eye a place to rest among all those beautiful flowers. The Round About Messages stamp includes a sweet little flower in the center of the greeting. I colored that flower with Stampin’ Blends to coordinate with the Sunflower Fields paper.
You don’t need to color a large image to make an impact. Sometimes just a few small touches of color are enough to bring the whole design together!

With the “so kind of you” greeting, this would be a lovely card to send to someone who’s helped you out, done something thoughtful, or simply made your day a little brighter.
And don’t forget, you can use this same gatefold layout with whatever pretty paper you already have in your craft room! I’ve got the free tutorial ready for you with the measurements and instructions so you can make one yourself.
