There are birthday cards…and then there are birthday cards that make people laugh before they even open the envelope! This cute Flamingo Birthday Card with the Birthday Song Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!® combines playful artwork with cheerful colors to create a handmade card that’s full of personality. This fun Stamp Set, featuring a cheerful group of singing animals and playful sentiments, make birthdays feel just a little more festive. If you’re looking for a birthday card that’s memorable, colorful, and guaranteed to bring a smile, this one is sure to do the trick.
One of my favorite things about handmade birthday cards is that they show someone they’re worth celebrating. Whether it’s for a close friend, a grandchild, a neighbor, or someone who might otherwise spend the day feeling forgotten, taking the time to create a card says, “You matter.” Sometimes the happiest cards are the ones that create the biggest connection, and these adorable flamingos certainly know how to spread a little joy.

August ordering Bonus
A Bonus for You!
Any order you place in August includes a free 10-project tutorial featuring the Stitched Season Suite that you can use with any Bundle in your stamp stash.
It’s filled with cozy, step-by-step card ideas to spark your creativity when your order arrives — so you’re not staring at supplies wondering where to start.
The Birthday Song Stamp Set is perfect for creating playful focal points. The whimsical artwork has so much personality that it doesn’t need an elaborate layout to shine. Instead, I let the image take center stage by coloring the flamingos with Stampin’ Blends, adding soft shading and depth that brings each little singer to life. To finish the focal panel, I used my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to create the stitched frame, adding texture and polish that helps the image stand out beautifully without overwhelming the design.
The floral background comes from the Paper Medley Mix-In Designer Series Paper, and I love how versatile it is. With its collection of muted colors, subtle patterns, and classic prints, it’s designed to coordinate with a wide variety of projects. In this card, the soft floral pattern provides just the right amount of interest while allowing the colorful flamingos to remain the star of the show. It’s a wonderful reminder that sometimes a versatile background paper is one of the hardest-working supplies in your craft room.

The color combination of Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, and Crumb Cake creates a playful yet balanced look. Poppy Parade adds bright birthday energy that immediately catches the eye, while Flirty Flamingo gives the birds their signature charm with soft, blended shading. Crumb Cake grounds the design with a warm neutral that keeps the brighter colors from feeling overwhelming. Together, these colors create a cheerful palette that’s fun, inviting, and perfect for celebrating another trip around the sun.
How To Make This Card
You’ll find the full supply list and step-by-step instructions below.

Cute Flamingo Birthday Card with the Birthday Song Stamp Set
Supplies Needed
- Poppy Parade Cardstock: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (score at 4-1/4")
- Basic White Cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4" (inside card)
- Paper Medley Paper: 4" x 5-1/4" (crumb cake with white flowers pattern)
- Flirty Flamingo Cardstock: 3-5/8" x 4-1/8"
- Basic White Cardstock: 3-1/2" x 4" (for die-cutting)
- Basic White Cardstock: 3-1/4" x 3-1/4"
Instructions
- Fold the Poppy Parade cardstock in half at the score line to create your card base.
- Adhere the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White cardstock inside the card; decorate as desired.
- Adhere the Paper Medley Designer Paper to the front of the card.
- Run the 3-1/2" x 4" Basic White Cardstock through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the 2-7/8" Square Die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. (Save the die-cut square for another project.)
- Stamp the sentiment in the lower left corner, as shown in the sample, using Black ink.
- Lay the die-cut Basic White cardstock onto the 3-1/4" square of Basic White cardstock, making sure it's centered. Note: I then put a strip of non-stick tape onto the frame so that it didn't move and shift. Using a pencil, please a small dot in each corner Remove the 3-1/2" 4" Basic White frame.
- Using the 4 black dots as your guide, stamp the Flamingo image onto the cardstock using Black ink. Color in with the Poppy Parade Blends. Using the Small Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink, lightly sponge Crumb Cake ink along the bottom so it looks like they're standing in sand.
- Adhere the stamped square to the back of the die-cut Basic White cardstock so that the flamingos show through the die-cut square. Adhere to the Flirty Flamingo cardstock and then adhere to the front of the card.
- To finish, add the Array of Dots to the card as desired.
