Today, I’m thrilled to share a perfect solution for busy women who want to infuse a bit of creativity into their hectic schedules. I’ll show you how to whip up quick and elegant thank you cards that look anything but rushed. This card uses Card Sketch 5, which is showcased in our Stampin’ Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalog on page 22. (View our digital catalog here.)
To make this Happy Birthday card even easier to create, I used the gorgeous Perennial Lavender Designer Paper and pulled the colors for my card from the paper: Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape, and the neutral Crumb Cake for a pop of color. This Color Combination is actually one of our Color Buddy Combinations – you can learn more about our Color Buddies here.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fold the Fresh Freesia cardstock in half at the 4-1/4″ score line to create your base card.
- Adhere the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock inside your card.
- Using the 3″ x 5″ piece of Perennial Lavender Paper, use your Paper Snips Scissors to “flag notch” both ends of the paper. Adhere to the center of the card front at an angle.
- Adhere the 3″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Designer Paper onto the center of Paper #1.
- Using the Gorgeous Grape ink pad, stamp the sentiment onto the 1-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock. Adhere to the front of the card as shown using Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish.
A Tip from Barb
This is a very easy card but if you have issues creating the “flag notch” look, here’s a tip. Flip the paper over and on the back side, make a mark 1/2″ up and 1-1/2″ over. Using your scissors, cut up to the mark, and then come over from either side to meet that mark. Repeat for the other side. It’s super easy but I recommend you practice on a 3″ side piece of scrap paper first until you get the hang of it!
