Who says fall leaves have to be orange, yellow, and brown? Today I’m sharing 3 Cards using the Lustrous Leaves Hot Foil Bundle, and we’re giving autumn a whole new color palette! With bright Poppy Parade, soft Pool Party, and deep Secret Sea, these handmade cards are a fun reminder that sometimes the most unexpected color combinations turn out to be our favorites.
And because this is Step It Up Stamping, we’re starting with a simple card and adding a little more personality to each version. Same bundle, three different looks, and plenty of inspiration for your next cardmaking afternoon!

I love a good autumn card, but sometimes I want to make something that doesn’t look quite so traditional. That’s where the Lustrous Leaves Hot Foil Bundle comes in. The leaf designs have wonderful detail, and the coordinating pieces give you different ways to use them. You can keep things clean and simple or add layers, patterned paper, and a little metallic shine.
For these cards, I used the same “You’re a Blessing to Me” greeting on all three versions. It’s one of those sentiments that works for so many occasions, whether you’re thanking someone for a kindness or simply reminding a friend how much they mean to you.
And with those colorful leaves, the cards feel cheerful without being tied to just one occasion.

Let’s talk about this color combination, because it’s definitely not your typical fall palette!
Poppy Parade brings a bold, cheerful red that makes the leaves stand out immediately. Pool Party adds a soft, cool contrast that keeps the design feeling light and fresh, while Secret Sea provides a deep, rich background that helps the other two colors pop. Together, they create a balance of bright, soft, and dark.
I especially like how the Secret Sea cardstock frames the lighter Pool Party layers. It gives the cards definition without competing with those colorful leaves. And when you add the warm shine of copper foil, you get another little surprise! The metallic detail complements the red leaves and adds a touch of elegance without making the card feel too fancy.
Who knew autumn could look so good in red and blue?

One of the things I love most about Step It Up Stamping is showing how much you can do with one bundle. You don’t need a completely different collection of supplies for every card. Start with a design you enjoy, then decide whether you want to keep it simple or add a few extra touches. And if you’ve been curious about using hot foil on your handmade cards, the Queen Bee version is a wonderful example of how that metallic detail can become part of your design.
I think my favorite part of these cards might be the greeting: “You’re a Blessing to Me.” It’s such a lovely thing to tell someone, isn’t it?
Maybe there’s a friend who always listens when you need to talk. A neighbor who quietly helps without being asked. Or someone who has simply been part of your life for so long that you sometimes forget to tell them how much they matter. Imagine how they’d feel opening their mailbox and finding a handmade card with those words on the front.
You don’t need a holiday or special occasion to send a little appreciation. Sometimes a card that says “I’m glad you’re in my life” is the best kind to receive. So pull out those unexpected colors, have some fun with your leaves, and think of someone who deserves a little happy mail.
