Embrace Creativity with the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle
Embrace creativity with the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle by Stampin’ Up! Imagine the delight of your loved ones as they open a card, uniquely yours, adorned with the tender grace of a hummingbird and the vibrant beauty of flowers. Each stamp in this set is a canvas, inviting you to bring it to life with hues that speak your heart, while the coordinating dies create stylish die-cut frames in multiple sizes.
I kept this card fairly simply but added a few small touches that really make this card soar. Instead of using Shaded Spruce cardstock for the layered mat, I decided to use a piece of the beautiful Perennial Lavender Designer Paper, which is predominantly Shaded Spruce. It just added the perfect varied background and depth to the project.
The floral and hummingbird images are beautiful as is, so I just enhanced them with the Blends for easy coloring. And finally, I used Shaded Spruce ink on the sentiment but if you’d like a bolder image, or don’t have that ink pad, it also looks great in Black ink. Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fold the Highland Heather Cardstock in half at the score line.
- Adhere the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card.
- Using Black Memento ink, stamp the top of the floral image, varying the height. Color in the leaves using the Shaded Spruce Blends and the flowers using the Highland Heather Blends.
- Adhere the White cardstock to the piece of Perennial Lavender paper and then adhere to the front of the card.
- Using the 1/2″ strip of Highland Heather cardstock, stamp the sentiment using either Shaded Spruce or Black ink. Use your scissors to create an angle cut on the right side. Adhere the sentiment strip to the card in the upper left corner as shown in the sample.
- Using the 3″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp the hummingbird onto the cardstock using Black Memento ink. Color in using the Highland Heather Blends for the breast and neck; color in remainder of the hummingbird using the Shaded Spruce Blends. Highlight the wings and throat using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.
- Run the White cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and die-cut the Hummingbird using the die that comes in the Thoughtful Expressions Die Bundle.
- Adhere the Hummingbird to the right side of the card as desired using Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish.
A Tip from Barb
Because I used the Thoughtful Expressions Dies to cut out the Hummingbird, I categorized this as a Worker Bee card. But you can easily cut out the Hummingbird with your scissors to make this a quick & easy card.
