Handmade Fall Card for a Friend

Share this:

Welcome to our cozy crafting corner where today we’re focusing on creating a Handmade Fall Card for a Friend using the Warms My Heart Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! Fall is a season of warmth and gratitude, making it the perfect time to remind your friends how much they mean to you. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the steps to create a heartfelt, autumn-themed card that your friends will cherish.

Crafting a card from scratch allows you to infuse it with personal touches that store-bought cards simply cannot match. With the Warms My Heart Stamp Set, you have a variety of images and greetings that can be combined to reflect your unique message of friendship. Whether you’re reaching out to reconnect with an old friend or reinforcing an already strong bond, this card will communicate your sentiments beautifully.

To create this card, I chose colors that evoked the rich, warm tones of autumn. The Splendid Autumn paper made that easy as I just grabbed 3 colors from one of my favorite prints: Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso. If this combination of colors aren’t for you, then make sure you check out my Color Combination Library for more inspiration.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Fold the Daffodil Delight Cardstock at the 3-1/4” and 4-1/4” score lines.
  2. Adhere adhesive on the 1” area between the 2 score lines and glue shut.  (This creates a “book fold”)
  3. Adhere the 3” x 5-1/4” piece of Balmy Blue Splendid Autumn Paper to the inside of the card.
  4.  Using the 3-3/4” x 5-1/4” piece of Daisy Splendid Autumn Paper, cut 3/4” off the left side using your Paper Trimmer.  Adhere the 3/4” strip of paper to the glued “spine” and the remaining 3” x 5-1/4” piece to the front of the card on the right side.
  5. Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the sentiment onto the Lemon Lolly cardstock.
  6. Cut 3-1/2” of the ribbon and adhere to the back of the Lemon Lolly cardstock and adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. To finish, add 3 of the Faux Glass Dots onto the front of the card as desired.
