Today, I’m thrilled to share a perfect solution for busy women who want to infuse a bit of creativity into their hectic schedules. This card uses Card Sketch 11, which is showcased in our Stampin’ Up! 2025 January-April Occasions Mini-Catalog on page 12. (View our digital catalog here.)

To make this Happy Birthday card even easier to create, I used the gorgeous Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper and pulled the colors for my card from the paper. This created a clean and elegant design, perfect for this Card Sketch. If you’d prefer something softer or brighter, make sure you check out my Color Combination Library for more color inspiration.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Fold the Garden Green cardstock in half at score line to create your card base.
  2. Adhere the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card.
  3. Adhere the 3” x 3-3/4” Mixed Media Floral Paper to the 3-1/4” x 5” piece of Petal Pink Cardstock; adhere to the front of card.
  4. Using the 1/2” strip of Petal Pink cardstock, stamp the sentiment using Garden Green ink.  Using scissors to cut a “banner point” on each end.  Set aside.
  5. Punch the 2-3/8” circle from the 3” x 3” Mixed Media Floral Paper.  Adhere the sentiment strip from the previous step to the bottom of the card.  Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add 2 Antique Pearls to the circle as desired.
  6. To finish, tie a bow with the Garden Green Linen Thread and adhere to card using a Glue Dot.

A Tip from Barb

This is a fun card sketch that can be altered in many different ways. If the Designer Paper you’re using doesn’t have a “neutral” pattern, just leave it off. This design works best if you can use the color combination from the papers you’re using, but if that doesn’t work, simply use White cardstock for the sentiment strip and change the ink color to another color pulled from the paper!
