Today, I’m thrilled to share a perfect solution for busy women who want to infuse a bit of creativity into their hectic schedules. I’ll show you how to whip up quick and elegant thank you cards that look anything but rushed. This card uses Card Sketch 8, which is showcased in our Stampin’ Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalog on page 22. (View our digital catalog here.)

Card Sketch 8

To make this celebration card even easier to create, I used the gorgeous Season of Green & Gold Designer Paper which is perfect for a holiday card, but could also be used for other occasions such as birthdays, retirement, etc.

The gentle floral images added to the elegance of the card and then I just finished it out with a sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set. Let me show you how easy it is to create this handmade card!

  1. Fold the Very Vanilla cardstock in half at the score line.
  2. Adhere the four 1-3/8″ x 1-3/4″ Pattern 1 paper so that they’re lined up in the 4 corners, leaving a 1/8″ border around the outside of the card front.
  3. Adhere the four pieces of the Pattern 2 paper so that theyare around the outside of the front of the card (see sample for placement.)
  4. Adhere the 1-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ piece of Pattern 1 paper in the center of the card to complete the pattern.
  5. Stamp the sentiment onto the center of the 3/4″ strip of cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink.  Use the Paper Snips Scissors to ″flag notch″ both ends of the sentiment strip.
  6. Adhere the sentiment label to the front of the card as desired using Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish.

A Tip from Barb

This is a fun card sketch that makes the most of your pretty paper! Instead of hoarding your favorite Designer Series Papers, I encourage you to cut up at least 2 of the patterns and make this pretty card!

If you have issues lining up the paper onto your card, you can do what I do – make a cheat sheet! Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of cardstock the same color as your base card (in this case Vanilla) and use that as your guide to line up the papers. If they’re not totally event, cut the sides down by 1/8″ and then layer onto the card front. Easy Peasy!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you are inspired to create today, whether it is this simple and cute handmade card or another cardmaking project.  My goal is to help you carve out some creative joy!  If you’d like more detailed directions on how to make this card, feel free to email me. Keep checking back for more projects.
