Sympathy Card using the Prayers and Promises Stamp Set

This simple handmade sympathy card uses layered texture, a monochromatic green palette, and a clean focal sentiment to create a calm and meaningful design. The embossed background and hexagon detail make it polished without feeling complicated, perfect for sending heartfelt comfort when words are hard.

Supplies Needed

  • Shaded Spruce Cardstock: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (scored at 4-1/4)
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Garden Poetry Designer Paper: 4" x 5-1/4" (Shaded Spruce Pattern)
  • Shaded Spruce Cardstock: 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" (for punching)
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2-1/2" x 2-1/2"

Instructions

  • Fold the Shaded Spruce cardstock in half at the score line to create your card base.
  • Adhere the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card.
  • Run the Garden Poetry Designer Paper through the Cut & Emboss Machine using the Paradise Garden Hybrid Embossing Folder. Adhere to the front of the card.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the 2-1/2" square of Basic White cardstock using Shaded Spruce ink.
  • Using the Hexagon Punch, punch out the sentiment from the previous step and from the 2-1/2" scrap of Shaded Spruce cardstock. Glue the 2 together at an angle, so that they're slightly offset. Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Adhere the Shades of Green Hexagons to the card as desired to finish.

Notes

Worker Bee (for Confident Cardmakers)
Worker Bee projects are designed for the crafter who has a bit more time and enjoys creating a handmade card that features a technique or tool. In many cases, a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is required for die-cutting and/or embossing.
