Simple Thank You Card Idea for Beginners Using the Simply Leaves Bundle

Need an easy thank-you card? See how one small leaf stamp, three ink colors and simple repetition create a beginner-friendly handmade card worth sending.

Supplies Needed

  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (scored at 4-1/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock: 2" x 5-1/2"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 1-3/4" x 5-1/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 1/2" x 1-1/2" (need 3)

Instructions

  • Fold the Mossy Meadow cardstock in half at the score line to create your card base.
  • Adhere the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card; decorate as desired.
  • Using Old Olive ink, stamp the checkered leaf onto a post it note - this will create a "mask". Stamp the checkered leaf onto the 1-3/4" strip of Basic White cardstock about 1" down from the top. Ink stamp again and stamp about 1" up from the bottom of the cardstock. (See sample for placement.)
  • Mask the top Old Olive leaf using the post-it note. Clean stamp and ink up using Pool Party ink pad; stamp above the checkered leaf, slightly overlapping it. Move the mask to the bottom Olive Olive leaf and repeat process.
  • Mask again the top Old Olive leaf using the post-it note. Clean stamp and ink up using Misty Moonlight ink pad; stamp below the checkered leaf, slightly overlapping it. Move the mask to the bottom Olive Olive leaf and repeat process. Remove mask and discard.
  • Stamp the "thanks" onto the 1/2" strip of Basic White cardstock using Pool Party ink. Clean stamp and repeat on the other 2 pieces of Basic White cardstock using Old Olive and Misty Moonlight ink, cleaning stamp between each color change.
  • Adhere the 3 sentiments to the card front as shown in the sample to finish.
