And let’s talk about color!
Let’s talk about the color palette because it really sets the mood for this project. I used Lemon Lime Twist, Lost Lagoon, and Secret Sea, a combination that’s both vibrant and grounded. Lemon Lime Twist adds that cheerful pop of brightness, while Lost Lagoon brings in a calming, ocean-like vibe. Secret Sea ties everything together with its deep, moody undertone. It’s the kind of trio that makes your card look polished and professional, even if you’re brand new to cardmaking.
The Beautiful Motif Dies, used with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, easily provided the leafy accents tucked behind the mushrooms, and I have to say, they were the perfect finishing touch. Cutting them from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock gave me the look of whimsical ferns, exactly the kind of greenery you’d expect to see in a little woodland scene. Paired with the bold black-and-white mushrooms, the whole card has this fresh, modern-meets-nature feel that I just love.
To finish it off, I added a few Antique Pearls. I always say embellishments are like jewelry for your card; they don’t need to steal the show, but they add just the right sparkle. The pearls soften the design and bring balance, especially when set against the darker background layer.
What I love about this card is that it’s approachable. You don’t need to be an advanced stamper to pull it off—if you can stamp, cut, and glue, you can make this card. And yet it doesn’t look simple. That’s the sweet spot I aim for in my projects: achievable but impressive. It’s the kind of card that makes someone say, “Wow, you MADE this?”—and you’ll just smile knowing it didn’t take nearly as much time as they think.
So whether you’re crafting for a friend, a family member, or even a coworker, this mushroom-inspired design is sure to bring a smile. Give it a try, and see how fun it is to mix color, texture, and a bit of whimsy into your cardmaking.

Step-By-Step Instructions
- Fold the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock in half at the 4-1/4" score line to create your card base.
- Adhere the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card.
- Adhere the Celebratory Sips Designer Paper to the front of the card.
- Adhere the Lost Lagoon cardstock to the front of the card as shown in the sample. (Note: the Mini-Corrugated Embossing Folder that was used in this sample sold out and is no longer available.)
- Run the quarter sheet of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and cut out 2 or 3 of the fern dies from the Beautiful Motifs Dies. Adhere them as desired onto the Lost Lagoon cardstock. (Tip: I cut one of the ferns to create the different sizes to go behind the toadstools.)
- Stamp the sentiment onto the center of the 1/2" strip of Basic White cardstock using Secret Sea ink. Create a flag banner on the left side of the cardstock using your scissors. Adhere to the Lost Lagoon cardstock, as shown in the sample, using adhesive.
- Using the scrap of Basic White cardstock, stamp the large and medium toadstool caps using Secret Sea ink. Punch out using the Terrific Toadstools Builder Punch that comes in the Bundle. Ink up the small toadstool stem using Secret Sea ink, stamp off on your scratch paper, and then stamp onto the scrap of Basic White cardstock. Punch out using the Terrific Toadstools Builder Punch. Adhere the stem to the small toadstool cap and set aside.
- Ink up the large toadstool stem using Secret Sea ink and stamp off once on your scratch sheet. Fussy cut out using scissors. Adhere to the large toadstool cap from the previous step.
- Adhere the 2 toadstools to the front of the card, as shown in the sample, using Stampin' Dimensionals.
- To finish, add 3 of the Antique Pears as desired.
