If you’ve been searching for the perfect masculine card that’s equal parts rustic charm and creative fun, you’re going to love this week’s Coffee and a Card with the Outdoor Adventure Set by Stampin’ Up!® It’s a quick and easy fun-fold that gives you that “wow” moment when opened — and the best part? You don’t need to be a stamping expert to make it look incredible.

This is the exact card we made during this week’s Coffee & a Card — our casual midweek craft break on Facebook where we chat, sip our favorite beverage, and make something wonderful. And this card? It checks all the boxes: it’s a masculine design that works for birthdays, thank-you’s, or “just because” cards, it uses a simple fold for extra flair, and it shows how a few earthy colors can make a project come alive.

Inspired by the great outdoors, this card captures everything we love about nature — tall pine trees, deep forest greens, and the quiet strength of a lone deer silhouetted against a rustic backdrop. I love how the Stylish Shapes Dies create that perfect frame for our focal point, while the Gathering Together Specialty Paper ties it all together with those warm, fall-inspired patterns. Whether you’re sending it to an avid hiker, a nature enthusiast, or someone who simply enjoys life’s quiet moments, this card makes them feel seen and celebrated.

The earthy palette of Early Espresso, Old Olive, and Cajun Craze is what gives this project its cozy, outdoorsy vibe. Early Espresso grounds the card with rich contrast, Old Olive adds a natural softness, and Cajun Craze brings warmth and depth — a classic combination that’s perfect for masculine or fall-themed cards. Together, they make the plaid pattern pop and the stamped forest scene feel perfectly balanced.

When I designed this project, I wanted a color combo that felt like a walk in the woods on a crisp fall morning — peaceful but full of texture and life. The Old Olive trees in the background soften the Early Espresso deer silhouette, while the plaid pattern in Cajun Craze adds a touch of rugged charm. The finished look? Effortless sophistication that any crafter can achieve.

A Few Design Tips

Here’s a fun trick we used during Coffee & a Card: I used masking tape on the deer stamp to separate the trees and layer the scene with ease. This simple technique gives dimension without needing extra stamps or dies. And if you’re new to fun-folds, don’t worry — this layout is easy to master! The scored fold lets your focal circle stand tall when displayed, yet it folds flat for mailing.

For the finishing touch, I matted each Designer Paper panel in Early Espresso cardstock to make the patterns pop and give the card a crisp, professional look. You’ll be amazed at how this small detail makes such a big difference!

Why I Love Fun Folds

Fun folds are one of my favorite ways to take a simple card and make it unforgettable — without adding extra layers or complicated techniques. They instantly give your project that “how did you make that?” factor while still being quick and achievable. This particular layout is a great starter fold if you’re new to interactive cards because it only takes one extra score line to create a design that stands on its own. It’s the perfect confidence booster for crafters who want to try something new but still enjoy that quick win feeling. Once you make one, you’ll be hooked — I promise!
