This week’s Coffee and a Card with Hobby Haven Specialty Paper by Stampin’ Up!® turned into the sweetest little project, and I couldn’t wait to share it with you. There’s something about soft blues, simple layers, and a clean thank-you sentiment from the With You In Mind Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!® that just feels calming, like taking a slow breath.

Maybe it’s the little potted plants or the gentle pattern in the background, but this card gave me that “oh, this is why I love stamping” moment. No stress, no fuss — just easy crafting with pretty paper and a message that works for just about anyone. If you’ve been wanting a quick win or a gentle nudge to get your supplies out again, this is the card for you.

Quick & Simple Thank You Card using the Hobby Haven Specialty Paper

This Coffee & a Card project is soft, simple, and easy to make. With calming colors and a clean thank-you sentiment, it’s the perfect little handmade card for anyone who wants a quick, pretty project to share.

Supplies Needed

  • Pool Party Cardstock: 4-1/4" x 7-3/4" Scored at 2-1/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Hobby Haven Paper: 2" x 4"
  • Pool Party Cardstock: 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3" x 4-1/4"
  • Hobby Haven Specialty Paper (Pre-Cut Pieces)

Instructions

  • Fold the 4-1/4" x 7-3/4" piece of Pool Party cardstock at the score line to create your card base.
  • Adhere the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card base.
  • Using the Small Blending Brush and the Pool Party ink pad, blend a small line of ink along the bottom of the 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock.
  • Stamp the sentiment towards the top of the card, about 1-1/4" down from the top of the cardstock, using Summer Splash ink. Tip: I laid the Haven Hobby precuts where I wanted them and used those as a guide to where I wanted to stamp the sentiment.
  • Adhere the Hobby Haven precuts to the bottom of the Basic White cardstock using adhesive. Tip: it's ok if some of your precuts hang off the cardsock.
  • Adhere the Basic White cardstock to the 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Pool Party cardstock.
  • Note: I wrapped Summer Splash Ribbon, which is now retired, around the top of the card. If you don't have this Ribbon, take any white ribbon, place it on your Summer Splash ink pad, hold it down with the small Blending Brush and run back and forth on the ink pad until the ribbon has been dyed to the Summer Splash color.
  • Adhere to sentiment panel to the top flap of the card, onto the Hobby Haven Specialty Designer Paper, being careful to only place adhesive where it will be attached to the front flap.

Let’s Talk About Color

111925 Colors

This palette feels so soothing. The light aqua adds gentle brightness, the soft white brings warmth, and the deeper blue in the little pots softens the whole look without making it feel heavy. It’s the kind of color mix that makes you relax the moment you start crafting with it.

What I love most is how easy it is to work with. Everything blends without competing, and the soft tones help the sentiment shine. If you’ve ever sat down to make a card and felt a little overwhelmed, this combo gives you instant confidence. It creates a peaceful, polished look with almost zero effort — perfect for thank-you cards, thinking-of-you notes, and those “just because” moments when you want something pretty but simple.
