A Cheerful Flower Card with Pop Up Petals is exactly the kind of handmade card that lifts your mood the second you start stamping. I loved how the colors came together on this one—fresh, bright, and friendly without being too busy. It’s the perfect card for someone who just gets you, which is probably why I smiled the whole time I made it.

The simple layout keeps things easy, even if you’re still building confidence with your supplies, and the layered floral image adds just enough detail to make it feel special. It’s cheerful, sweet, and quick to create, which makes it a great go-to when you want to send a little appreciation or brighten someone’s day.

The Pop-Up Petals Stamp Set is a Two-Step Stamping Set which allows you to layer images using different stamps from the set. It’s like building an image piece by piece. You might use one stamp to make the outline of a flower, and another stamp to color in the petals. When you put it all together, you get one detailed picture that looks like it pops off the page!

A Cheerful Flower Card with Pop Up Petals Bundle featuring bright orange and yellow flowers in a vase on blue panel and embossed navy background with a "you get me & I appreciate that" sentiment.

This is such a cheerful mix. The navy keeps things grounded, the coral adds that fun burst of color, and the soft blue keeps everything feeling light and friendly. It’s an easy palette to work with when you want something bright without going over the top.

Floral Card using the Pop-Up Petal Bundle

Create a cheerful handmade flower card using bright colors and simple layers. Easy, fun, and perfect for sending a thoughtful message.

Supplies Needed

  • Basic White Cardstock: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"
  • Night of Navy Cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Calypso Coral Cardstock: 2-1/4" x 3-1/4"
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock: 2" x 3"
  • Basic White Cardstock: 2" x 3" (for die-cutting)
  • Basic White Cardstock: 5/8" x 2-1/4"

Instructions

  • Fold the Basic White Cardstock in half at the score line to create your card base.
  • Run the 4" x 5-1/4" Night of Navy Cardstock through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to the front of the card.
  • Using the 2" x 3" Basic White cardstock, stamp the vase and outline floral images from the Pop-Up Petals Bundle using Night of Navy ink.
  • For the open floral image, using the appropriate Two-Step Stamping image and stamp the flower petals in Calypso Coral ink. Tip: for a lighter look, I stamped off once on my scratch sheet and then stamped onto the open image. Stamp the inside of the flower using Daffodil Delight ink. Color in the leaves using the Dark Lemon Lime Twist Blend.
  • Run the Basic White cardstock through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and die-cut the images using the Pop-Up Petals Dies. Adhere the flowers, then the vase to the Balmy Blue cardstock using adhesive. Adhere to the Calypso Coral Cardstock and set aside.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the 5/8" strip of Basic White cardstock using Night of Navy ink. Adhere the left side only to the Calypso Coral cardstock as shown in the sample. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the Calypso Coral/sentiment to the front of the card.
  • Using the White Baker's Twine, tie into a bow and adhere to the vase, just above the sentiment.
  • To finish, add 3 of the Calypso Coral Pears of Beauty as desired.

Worker Bee (for Confident Cardmakers)
Worker Bee projects are designed for the crafter who has a bit more time and enjoys creating a handmade card that features a technique or tool. In many cases, a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is required for die-cutting and/or embossing.
