I’ll show you how to whip up quick and elegant handmade cards that look anything but rushed. This card uses Card Sketch 16, which is showcased in our Stampin’ Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalog on page 22. To make this Happy Birthday card even easier to create, I used the gorgeous Perennial Lavender Designer Paper and pulled the colors for my card from the paper. This created a clean and elegant design that could be easily changed for any color combination you’d like. Make sure you check out my Color Combination Library for more colorful ideas.
How To Make This Card
Project Skill Level: Busy Bee
Busy Bee projects are designed for the beginner or busy papercrafter. This is a basic cardmaking project that can be achieved by someone who has never made a handmade card before. You can view more Busy Bee cards here.
Cardstock Measurements:
- Lost Lagoon Cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score at 4-1/4”
- Basic White Cardstock: 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Perennial Lavender Paper: 3” x 5”
- Basic White Cardstock: 1-1/4” x 2-1/4”

Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fold the Lost Lagoon Cardstock in half at the scoreline to create your card base.
- Adhere the 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card.
- Adhere the Perennial Lavender paper to the front of the card.
- Use your paper snips scissors to “flag notch” only the left side of the 1-1/4” x 2-1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock.
- Stamp the sentiment onto the Basic White cardstock using Lost Lagoon ink. Adhere to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- To finish, 2-3 of the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems as desired.
