These 3 Cards using the Swirled Designs Bundle by Stampin’ Up! is the perfect project when you want to say thank you in a fun and creative way. The Swirled Designs Bundle combines whimsical swirls and playful patterns with coordinating dies that make it easy to create something that looks beautifully layered and full of movement.
If you love that feeling of watching a card come to life—starting simple, then adding just a bit more each time—this Step It Up Stamping project is for you. With a cheerful color palette of Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, and Calypso Coral, these designs feel light, happy, and just a little bit unexpected. You’ll start with clean and simple stamping, then step up each version by adding texture, ribbon, and die-cut accents that make your cards shine.
When I first started creating these designs, I was drawn to how playful the swirls felt. Using the coordinating dies with our Stampin’ Up! Cut & Emboss Machine makes it easy to add stars, layers, and movement—perfect for thank you cards that feel joyful and heartfelt. Whether you’re a new crafter or someone who’s been stamping for years, you’ll love how these designs can adapt to your style.
Let’s Talk About Color
This color combination of Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, and Calypso Coral is one of my favorites for thank you cards. It’s fresh and uplifting, with the calming energy of blue, the warmth of pink, and the vibrancy of coral. Together, they strike the perfect balance between soft and spirited, making these cards suitable for any season or recipient.
Step It Up Stamping: From Busy Bee → Worker Bee → Queen Bee
Busy Bee:
This first version is all about quick, simple stamping. Start with a Balmy Blue card base and stamp your swirls and splatter patterns in Petal Pink and Calypso Coral. Add a “Thank You” sentiment in Balmy Blue for a pop of contrast. A bit of ribbon and white twine adds texture without much effort. It’s fast, easy, and perfect when you want to make several cards at once.
Worker Bee:
The second version adds a few small touches that make a big difference. Add a Calypso Coral layer beneath your stamped panel for contrast, and create a small tag accent stamped with a striped design in Calypso Coral. Tie it with ribbon and twine, then layer your sentiment on top. It still comes together quickly, but now it feels a little more polished and dimensional.
Queen Bee:
The final version takes it all the way. Start by embossing your Calypso Coral layer to add texture. Then use the Swirled Designs Dies to cut out stars and shapes from Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, and Calypso Coral cardstock. Arrange them playfully around your sentiment for a bright, layered look that feels joyful and full of energy. This card may take a few extra minutes, but the results are worth every second.
