Saturday Sympathy Card

Pool Party Sympathy Card

I needed to make a quick Sympathy card (is there such a thing?) for a friend who recently lost her dog.   The loss of a pet is such a difficult thing.

Whenever I need an elegant card that I can put together quickly, I always turn to my Big Shot and framelits.    I decided to go with a neutral color palette of Pool Party and White, since I knew Pool Party was her favorite color.

For this card, I used a half sheet (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ of Thick Whisper White cardstock, and then layered a mat of the same cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) that I had run through the Fluttering Embossing folder.

I cut out the butterfly using Pool Party cardstock and the Butterflies thinlits.

The sentiment was from the Rose Wonder bundle, which I stamped in basic black, onto the frame from the same set.   Using the framelits, I cut out the banners.   I used some retired Pool Party ribbon and then mounted everything together on the card.

To finish, I added a few Rhinestone jewels and the card was done.

A very clean and simple card, made with love.   Now to get it into the mail.  Off I go!
