Maritime Designer Paper is My New Best Friend

Maritime-Designer-Paper-Stampin-Up

My sister asked me to whip up some cards for a friend of hers recently and I was happy to oblige.  But when I sat down to stamp, my mojo had gone missing.

So I did what I always do when I can’t find my creative muse – I pulled out all my packages of Designer Paper and thumbed through them until one got my attention.

As I went through package after package, I started getting worried until I came across my Maritime Designer Paper – and eureka!  Problem solved!

Her friend lives on Whidbey Island, he loves the water, and and he wanted some generic cards.  Done deal!

I started pulling out inks & cardstock that coordinated with the Designer Paper – in this case, Real Red cardstock and Night of Navy ink.   I pulled in a generic sentiment stamp set, Fabulous Four, and got to work.

  • 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Real Red cardstock, folded in half (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″)
  • Designer Series Paper mat (4″ x 5-1/4″)
  • Whisper White mat (3-3/4″ x 5″)
  • Punched five 1″ squares of the Designer Paper using my 1″ Square Punch and layered them onto a 1-1/4″ x 5″ strip of Real Red cardstock.  Adhere that to the white mat, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink , adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals and boom!  All done!

Quick & easy but with a lot of color & spunk.

(He loved the cards, by the way!)

  1. Love this card…. I’m definitely into easy peasy and this qualifies… thank you for sharing your sensational creativity

  2. Love the vividness of the colors as well as the simple layout. Is there a way to “pin” your cards onto a Pinterest board?

    • Hi Ann! I am SO GLAD you asked this question! You actually should see a “Pin It” button pop up **on the picture** as you hover over it with your mouse. If you’re not seeing that, then I need to fix my website so that it does! Let me know!

    • Ann – I think the button you’re referring to you will take you to my Pinterest Boards. When you hover your mouse over the picture, do you see the “red pin-it” button in the upper left corner? Think I need to change that on my website! *Ü*
