The Importance of Thank You Cards in Direct Sales

The Important of Writing A Thank You Card in Your Direct Sales Business

Sending a Thank You card to your customers after they place an order is one of the easiest ways to set yourself apart from others in your company.   A heartfelt Thank You shows that you sincerely appreciate their business and the opportunity to be of service to them.

Don’t believe me?  I make cards for a living. I’m surrounded by beautiful handmade cards on the wall of my Studio.

But the other day, I opened my mailbox and there was a small envelope, with my name printed on the front. My breath hitched a bit and I immediately looked to see who had sent it to me. I started smiling and — while standing in the lovely Northwest mist, also known as rain — I opened my card and went from a smile to a full-fledged grin. Someone thought enough of me to send me a Thank You card!

Unlike a text or an e-mail, this was special. (Any time someone says thank you – whatever the format – it’s important & appreciated. But a hand-stamped card? Well, that was SPECIAL!)

It truly made my day. And made me realize — mom was right. A thank you card, sent through the mail, is more than a piece of paper. It’s a feeling. It’s an emotional booster.

It’s a hug with a fold in the middle.

Does it have to be handstamped?  NO!  Any time you take the time to choose a card, write a personalized note inside, hand address the outside, stick a postage stamp on it and mail it – well, that shows thought and appreciation.

But a handstamped card can take that a bit further.  By using different colors of ink, you can personalize the card so that it fits your brand.

Directions For Quick & Easy Thank You Card

The card above is a great example of a quick & easy card which you can use over and over again.  You can change the sentiment and make it a birthday card instead of a thank you card.   Are your brand colors pink & green?  No worries – you can personalize it to make it your own – over and over again.  Not to mention the fun you’ll have making that card!

Start with a package of Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes – at $6 for a set of 20 cards & envelopes, that comes to less than $.40 per card/envelope.

The stamp set featured here, Watercolor Words, was chosen for it’s versatility.  But truly, any stamp set that speaks to you will work!

To add color, 3 colors of ink were chosen for this card, but you can definitely get by with just 2 colors that reflect your personal brand.

And finally, some Rhinestone Jewels were added for a pop of bling, and some Bakers Twine & Designer Paper were added for some variety in color, but these are totally optional and your card would look just fine without them.  The truth is, it’s not what’s stamped on the outside that is as important as what you write on the inside.  That is where the true magic happens!  *Ü*

So whether you pull out some ink, paper & stamps and make one or run to the store and buy one, send a thank you card today.  I promise you, the person on the other end will appreciate it more than you know.
