I don’t know if this ever happens to you, but sometimes I need a birthday card — and I have less than 5 minutes to make one.
Whenever that happens, I grab whatever Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper I have handy, cut it down to 2.50″ x 4″, grab some coordinating cardstock and ribbon and away I go!
This card was one I had to do quickly and I thought it would work for either a man or a woman — and it fits just about any age!
It uses one ink pad (Real Red) to coordinate with the Designer Paper and 2 stamps from the Big News stamp set – what could be easier?!?
Here are the card measurements so that you can try making one with your own Designer Paper:
- Real Red Card Base – 5.50″ x 8.50″, folded in half
- Maritime Designer Series Paper – 2.50″ x 4″
- Night of Navy cardstock – 1/4″ x 4″ (could also have used ribbon)
- Whisper White cardstock – 2″ x 2.50″ (based on the stamp size)
Want to know how I decided on the size of the Whisper White cardstock? I start with the size of the block the stamp is on! In this case, I used Block C, which measures 2″ x 2.25″. It was a little snug in the height, so I just widened it a bit, by a quarter inch. Done!
Leave me a comment below if you think this is a card design you might try the next time you need a card in a hurry!
