I’ve been asked recently about background stamps. Here’s the scoop – and a free tutorial!
Background stamps are large images, about 4-1/4″ x 5-3/4″, and are designed to create backgrounds on standard 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ cards. They also work well for backgrounds and layers on scrapbook pages and a variety of 3-D projects.
Many background stamps, like the World Map and Pleasant Poppies backgrounds, also make great focal points on projects and have been used in home décor on pillows or wall hangings.
Like smaller stamps, background stamps can be used for many stamping techniques such as sponged backgrounds, ink direct to paper, ink direct to stamp, rock and roll, and emboss resist-techniques.
Pick out a background stamp today and give it a try, I think you’ll be pleased with the results and versatility!
Tip: Use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat when stamping with background stamps to get an even impression.
