Another set used at our BZBStampers Holiday Stamp Together was the Your Presents stamp set, with all 3 cards designed by our very own Carol Lovenstein.
Carol really went outside the box on all 3 of her cards, but this one was easily the class favorite. Pink, black & gold is such a classy combination, don’t you think?
I know you’ll ask, so here’s how we did the pink “tissue” paper — she used the “faux suede” technique. We took a strip of Pink Pirouette cardstock and ran it back & forth with our bone folder so that the fibers of the cardstock were crushed. After a bit, the cardstock will start to separate and you’ll use the “inside” of the cardstock where it was pulled apart. It was then pleated and attached to the back of the black cardstock.
Tip: Carol is all about small touches on her designs and in this case, she made sure that the gold cording trim was on the front & back of the “tissue paper” so that it looks like 2 separate handles.
You can’t see it in the picture, but the black bow was actually the bow from the Your Presents stamp set, heat embossed in Black Embossing Powder and then hand cut out. Can you believe that Carol prepped 60 of these for us in class so that we wouldn’t have to do it ourselves? What a teammate!
Although we didn’t do it in class, how fun would it be to attach a gift card to the inside of this card?!? Special card for a very special person!
