This was one of the cards we did in my recent Rose Wonder Stamp Set class. It was a fun technique and very easy to do.
I started with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ white cardstock base.
Using the Rose Garden Thinlits, I die-cut one of the large Roses using Shimmery White cardstock. I then used this die-cut piece as a mask.
Laying the “mask” on a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock at an angle, I used Sponge Daubers to sponge Blushing Bride ink over the mask, filling in the center with a bit of Watermelon Wonder ink. (They key is to hold the mask steady and work slowly so you don’t move the mask.) I repeated on the leaves, using Pear Pizzazz ink with just a touch of Old Olive ink for highlights.
I then removed the mask and set it aside – I’ll show you the 2nd card we made with this mask tomorrow!
I stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner using Black Memento ink and layered the Shimmery White mat onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. I adhered the Black cardstock to the white base card using Stamping Dimensionals to finish.
Make sure you check back tomorrow for a fun card using the mask from this card! *Ü*
